We do the work so you don’t have to, We have all the tools, knowledge and experience needed to turn your lifestyle block maintenance woes into a manicured and well-kept picturesque oasis.

Paddock Mowing & Topping
There’s nothing like the fresh look and smell of a freshly mowed paddock! Let the professional team at Tidy Acres maintain your pasture with a customised combination of mowing, mulching, topping, and slashing services, all pencilled in around your busy to-do list and perfectly timed for when your green needs a little pick-me-up.
Frequent mowing and topping allows your grass to put extra growth into the root system, producing a dense base for that perfect lawn-type look finish or as a great grazing area for horses, cows, and other livestock. Based on the size and usage of your paddock, Tidy Acres can also provide a customised mowing schedule to suit your pasture requirements.
Whether you have more Gorse, Dock, and Kikuyu than grass, or whether pasture-upkeep has slipped away from you completely, we can get your property back into manageable condition no matter its current state with a hefty dose of TLC. Afterwards, we can create a new maintenance schedule tailored to your property needs once the struggling area is back in tip-top shape.
A combination of expertise and our array of powerful, high-quality mowers enables us to maximise our time by using the best tools for the job, which keeps costs down for our valued customers, especially in areas too small for full-sized tractors.
Our Equipment:
Finishing mower/Roller mower – This option is perfect for adding a manicured finish to large, grassy pastures or area lawns. Width options range from 1.8m and up.
Flail mower – Rugged enough to be ideal for overgrown Gorse, thistles, Dock, or Kikuyu areas, but light enough to manoeuvre around heavily rooted areas or the wife’s delicate flower beds.
Slasher – The perfect tool for paring down those unsightly bulrushes.
Compact, light-weight, and manoeuvrable, each of our mowers are designed to work with cushioned turf tyres, fitted for less impact on the pasture soil, or lugged tires meant for challenging, steep, or wet terrain, making them ideal for small areas that are too oddly shaped or uneven for full-sized tractors.
Concerned about the grazing animals already in your field? Don’t be! We are animal owners ourselves, so we always strive to be highly mindful of nearby livestock of all kinds while working in your area. Most animals are very inquisitive about the tractor, however, and tend to settle within a few minutes to watch their new nice clean paddock appear before their eyes.

Paddock Rolling, Levelling, and Chain Harrowing
Water saturation during the soggy winter months can damage your pasture’s pristine appearance, causing it to become pugged and bumpy from the horse and cow hooves, natural erosion, and general traffic. As water fills these grooves, freezes, and settles, it worsens these pockets until they become a twisted ankle landmine.
With our specialised chain harrows and fancy levelling equipment we can restore that smooth surface as the weather moves into spring, summer, and autumn. For best results, however, paddock levelling/harrowing needs to be carried out at just the right time of year when the ground has enough moisture to be workable, but isn’t too wet (or too dry) – we’ll let you know when that perfect time is!
With regular maintenance, levelling the land improves moisture absorption by roughing up the underlying soil and allowing much-needed oxygen to enter (aerate) the plants’ roots. When combined with all of that unwanted animal manure you try so hard to avoid stepping in, it forces vital nutrients back into the soil for a completely natural free form of fertilization that promotes grass growth. It also knocks and reduces those nuisance weeds to give the grass a chance to take over and outgrow them.
Once harrowing is complete, we recommend going back over the paddock with our roller to compact all that nutritional goodness put back into your soil, leaving you with a cricket pitch type finish and a healthy, self-sustaining pasture base for your livestock.
Whether just starting out in a new rural lifestyle or preparing your established block for the new season, contact Tidy Acres to book a levelling session. You (and your animals) will love the results!

Regrassing

Tidy acres can complete the whole process of re grassing your paddocks. Starting with a good kill off, of the existing pasture. Next, working up the soil to air rate to revive your topsoil back to top condition. Followed by a quick harrow and rolling to even out those annoying bumps. This process forms the perfect seedbed to get that new grass off to a thriving start.
On to the best part “direct drilling”of the new quality seed of your choice or we can advise/ recommend the best types of pasture seed for your conditions/type of animals/appearance you desire and determine the best kg/ha application rate.

Fertiliser Application
Put some nutritional value back into your pasture with a fertilising application session from Tidy Acres!
In the world of real estate values and curb appeal and such, a beautiful, healthy paddock is a great asset to your animals and to your property. Which means we want you to be able to show off your assets with pride.
Fertiliser is essential to creating and maintaining an inviting, healthy and lush green looking paddock and lawn. Your block needs help from you to look its best and promote pasture recovery between animal rotations. Like most living creatures they require nutrients to thrive.
Choosing the right fertiliser and applying it properly, however, are just as important to pasture health. That’s why as part of our fertiliser application services we can also organise a soil sample test to determine your specific pH levels and establish the best fertilising programme for your needs.
Liquid Fertiliser – Offers a wide range of benefits depending on the particular type. Tidy Acres has a wide selection of organic, phosphate-enriched, potassium-enriched, and other nutrient-dense fertilisers that have rapid results and easier coverage.
Solid Fertiliser – Is a slow-release method of fertilisation that provides lasting soil and plant health from the inside out.

Our tried and true kill process is much more favourable over conventional broadcast spray methods. It is fantastic for those in close proximity to sensitive orchards, waterways, and livestock, even your beloved neighbours will thank you. This application method doesn’t harm regular or ornamental lawn grass and is not wind condition dependent.
With Tidy Acres’ super tough yet super gentle weed killing services, visible results take an average of 1-2 weeks to appear. We also recommend the Circle of Life approach: mowing and mulching the dead remains back into pasture as an organic compost material for your paddock.
