Brothers Lance and Jamie are the founders and driving force behind Tidy Acres. Having been raised north of Auckland on a large sheep and beef farm, their rural foundation has given them not only years of experience in all aspects of farm life, but has engrained in them a natural love of the land that puts passion behind every job they undertake.

Our Story

After leaving school, both Lance and Jamie completed agricultural apprenticeships where they operated large scale tractors and machinery on a variety of rural properties, ranging from the small, traditional lifestyle block to massive, highly mechanised farms. After successful learning experiences in agriculture, the two brothers went their separate ways — Lance pursued a successful career in aircraft engineering, while Jamie went on to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies at Massey University, never dreaming that they would find their way back to fully embrace their rural roots in their own startup company.

At separate times, both Lance and Jamie embarked on overseas experiences, securing employment with successful, UK-based agricultural contracting operations where they gained hands-on experience in all aspects of successful farming practices. From crop establishment and management, to harvesting and packaging, the long hours, hot days, and overall back-breaking experience gave them both a new perspective.

While Lance furthered his career, Jamie decide to purchase a tractor to start a new career of his own in agriculture.  After a decade of service, however, Lance was looking to get back to his rural roots while Jamie was looking to put his business management degree to good use in a new venture — and thus Tidy Acres was born.
